Foundation Design

Whether performing in the transmission, substation, industrial or communications sectors, Eclipse Foundation Group provides a full line of foundation design solutions including:

  • Drilled Piers/Anchor Bolted Foundations: Auger drilling up to 16 foot in diameter and 100 foot deep with use of specialized drilling rigs capable of producing 180,000 foot pounds of rotary torque with 100,000 pounds of push down “crowd” force under slurry, cased or rock coring. Setting anchor bolt cages and rebar cages in excess of 100,000 pounds with certified crane operators.
  • Direct Embedded Structures and Pole Setting: Turnkey drilling and placing concrete or crushed rock backfill and setting steel pole or concrete pole structures in excess of 70,000 pounds.
  • Vibratory Caisson: (Octagon, flanged and open pipe) We work in marshy areas, wetlands and sensitive areas that require amphibious equipment, low ground pressure (LGP) equipment and barges with push boats. We also have experience working in sensitive environments that require erosion and spill prevention plans, silt fencing and turbidity control.
  • Impact Caisson: (When vibratory hammering meets refusal) Eclipse utilizes hydraulic diesel hammers with custom fabricated concentric cone tooling that adapts to large caissons up to 10 foot in diameter.
  • Amphibious Capabilities: Getting to the worksite can be a monumental challenge for some but not Eclipse. We have years of experience designing and solving the challenge of getting production equipment to the work site. When tough jobs require more than just construction mat board access roads or when water levels and marshes require alternate means of traversing equipment to the work site, Eclipse utilizes its own amphibious equipment such as our amphibious crawler cranes capable of floating a 77 ton crane, amphibious crawler drilling rigs, amphibious tool carrier decks to transport vibratory hammers, caissons or poles, amphibious personnel carriers, air boats, tool boats, push barges, flexi floats and barges. We have performed projects in water and marshes from installing new caissons to working on drilled shaft projects and demolishing concrete piers using specialized diamond cutting rope saw blades to remove the structure well below the waterline and bring the heavy pier remains back to shore. We are the experts who get the call for these challenging projects. Safety is built into every unique amphibious project as we deal with nature and the creatures that often live in these environments. We limit our footprint and disturbances by using the least decibel equipment possible and the most buoyant equipment.
  • Auger Drilling: We are capable of handling limited access projects under 7 feet and large diameter and deep foundation projects under 22 feet. Our team is experienced in all geological soils and marshes as well as rock.
  • Slurry Drilling: Eclipse uses only environmentally friendly and bio-degradable polymer slurry and soil mixing products, as well as natural bentonite. Established in the southern parts of Louisiana, we are involved in slurry drills on a daily basis and have the knowledge and experience to successfully keep large diameter holes in excess of 12 foot safely open. In addition to slurrying and casing, a constant head pressure is monitored by qualified slurry technicians onsite along with keeping the properties within the designed parameters.
